1.  Why do you set your member area up like this?  Other membership sites don't  use a "cart" system.

There are a few reasons for this.  Firstly, I like to keep things as simple as possible on the administration end so that I can spend more time creating images for your use and less time administering the site. Having a cart system allows me to easily group items, place what's new on the front page without having to adjust page numbers in html and even to have images that you might have missed rotate.

Secondly I like things orderly - I can group images much easier using a database system and even cross reference certain items into different categories, such as adding Dragons to the RPG Theme section.

Thirdly, ease of use for members.  Members looking for specific images such as a jester or a lion don't have to comb the entire site they can simply use the search box at the top. This isn't a perfect system as not all images have descriptions due to the server move that requires/required the replacement of thousands of images,  but it will find the images by title where applicable.

Members also have complete control of their own passwords and information, there is no universal password and generally no need to change access information as each account is handled individually.

Lastly, this allows me to let non-members see what they are getting in advance in a realistic manner without allowing downloads. It's all well and good to offer the freebies that are comparable to the member images but that won't let a non-member know if we have images of a specific breed of dog/bird or what types of cars we offer.

2. I've registered but I can't download anything!!

Registering is fine, but if you haven't purchased a membership you can not download anything, so honestly there is no benefit to registering until/unless you purchase a membership.

3. I've paid for my membership and I still can't download!

Memberships accounts are adjusted manually so if I'm unavailable the account isn't activated.  In most cases accounts are activated within 10 minutes, however I do sleep on occasion ☺and there are times something may come up.  Accounts are activated within 24 hours at the most.  If I am going to be unavailable for an extended time a notice will be posted.

We also delete non-members accounts after a few weeks have passed if no membership is purchased.

4.  Can I use an image for a teeshirt or mousepad?

You may use images for this yes as long as it follows the Terms your membership agrees to.  Basically you must integrate the images into a design using multiple images, objects or combining them with your own creations.  You may not simply take an image and slap it on a template and then call it done.  This would be unfair to other members who use the same images.

5. So many 3D clipart images look alike...

Not really a question generally a comment. How about an interesting bit of info about this?  Firstly most of these styled images are created with Poser or DAZ|Studio.   I do not just own Pajama Pixels but also 3-D Arena, I'm a content provider for Poser and DAZ|Studio, I am even a broker/seller at DAZ3d among other places.

Why is that of any interest?  Well, I have seen my 3D products used on a variety of other sites that offer 3D images such as these (and I truly don't mind, I'm thankful my products are enjoyed), however I generally create and offer images here using my products before they are ever released elsewhere.  Some image parts are actually only available here as I never release them to the public.

Sadly for the people who look for images of this nature there is also a click and render mentality that some providers have as well.  They load it up and render it then release it, this will often lead to lookalike images.  This isn't generally the best quality for the end user. Over 98% of the images here are taken into a 2D program and adjusted, from issues where a model looks stiff to creating a more realistic or cartoon effect and more.

Images shouldn't be cranked out quickly but should be released as a quality item ready to use.

6.  PNGs?  Other sites offer Tubes or psp images how do I use these?

Pajama Pixels never offered tubes as the primary image format.  Not all graphics creators are using Paint Shop Pro and offering an image in a tube or psp format is limiting not only the program you can use them in but in the case of tubes it limits the size you can use which affects print.

We originally offered images in psd format, but PNG formatting creates a smaller image size allowing us more space on our site and CDs without having to offer smaller images - our images generaly average just under  900 pixels in either height or width.  The smaller sizes also take less rooom in your personal image collections.

These PNGS are transparant with the transparency controlled via an alpha mask.  To use the images simply open them and choose to apply mask from the alpha channel.  If you wish to paste the image into another image then choose to "select from the alpha channel" and then copy and paste.  This generally works best as on a few occasions applying the mask and then copy/pasting the image will create a rather odd image.

In newer versions of Paint Shop Pro you should see the images as transparant.  If you do not then you may adjust this in your preferences tab.

7. Will these images work in psp( Paint Shop Pro)?

Yes, I use Paint Shop Pro to create my images in when I finish them. I use PSP7 and Paint Shop Pro Photo XI

8. I am unable to get my downloads after checking out!

This occurs with a few users due to 2 possible reasons.  Firstly, if this occurs when you are clicking links in the confirmation email then try to download from your order history on your account page here on the site instead.

Secondly, if it attempts to download "download.php" or something similar then please drop me a note as it means the link on the file is incorrect.
